They are just there, sometimes going unnoticed but are important for life.
They are trees and this week has been set aside for the education of the importance of them. The City of Lima's Urban Forestry Department will be celebrating Arbor Day this Friday as they head out to Lima Central Catholic High School. Each year they plant two trees at a local school to highlight what trees provide to society.
"That's also part of what the Urban Forestry Council does for the community. It helps educate people about the different things, not only what trees bring to the community, but how to properly take care of them or replace them and so forth," explained Ric Stolly, Lima Parks & Recreation director.
Stolly invites the public to join them Friday at 1 p.m. on Lima Central Catholic's north lawn as two sycamore trees will be planted.
