LIMA, OH (WLIO) - For nearly 50 years, the St. Rita's Auxiliary and volunteers have been helping people out during the Christmas season as they raise money to help the medical center.

This Thursday, December 5, 2024, they will be holding their annual Holiday Street Fair. There will be homemade crafts and decorations, dog treats, and other items for sale. There is also a cookie walk and a country kitchen to stock up on holiday sweets. Plus, they will have a veterans' table for people to get information.

The street fair is the auxiliary's biggest fundraiser, and the money raised helps them give money to improve and expand the hospital.

The Holiday Street Fair is on December 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"Any monies we make, the reason that we do this, is to give back to the community, via directly to the community or through the hospital. We just completed a $1 million pledge to the GME, which is the Graduate Medical Education. We have now pledged $1 million for the new Mother/Baby Unit. It's an amazing feeling to see that money come in, and we break a record even by a matter of dollars. It's always a challenge to do that," says Gayle Holdgreve, St. Rita's Volunteer/Auxiliary.

Again, the Holiday Street Fair is on December 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Organizers say the valet service is available if the weather is less than ideal that day. St. Rita's Medical Center is located at 730 W. Market Street in Lima, OH.
