According to court documents, Honigford was seen on body cameras using an American flag to push officers, and he was in front of the protestors who pulled down the barriers to get into the building. At one point, he and other rioters pushed against a bike rack that officers were trying to use as a barricade. He touched the officers and told them that he was praying for them.

Honigford was listed as absent without leave from the Ohio National Guard after he stopped attending drill weekends because he says he didn't trust the current state of the country following the outcome of the 2020 election. Honigford will be sentenced in August.
