DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) -Â A Delphos man is facing multiple federal charges for being part of the January 6th, 2021, attack on the capitol.
Matthew Honigford, 31 was arrested this week and charged with six counts including assaulting or resisting police officers and disrupting government business. According to the criminal complaint, Honigford was seen on body cameras using an American flag to push officers, and he was in the front of the protestors that pulled down the barriers to get into the building. Honigford was listed as Absent Without Leave from the Ohio National Guard after he stopped attending drill weekends because he says he didn’t trust the current state of the country following the outcome of the 2020 election. No hearing date has been set for Honigford, who is currently out on bond. Over 1200 people have been charged in connection with the January 6th attack, and around 400 have been sentenced.
