Students scattered in every direction during the annual Easter egg hunt, organized by Lima City School resource officers. The event, held for several years, gives students a chance to unwind following state testing and before heading into Easter break.

“It gives them a break from their education,” said Paula Strickler, a school resource officer. “They’ve been testing, so it gives them a holiday break — a little extra, a little bit of fun at school.”

The hunt featured hundreds of candy-filled eggs. Students from the Big Sparty–Little Sparty mentorship program joined in to help younger students count the 14 eggs they were allowed to take home.

The event provided both excitement and a chance for students to celebrate the season while building connections with older peers and school staff.
