March 26, 2025, Press Release from Flag City Honor Flight:

FINDLAY, Ohio – Flag City Honor Flight (FCHF) is proud to launch its 2025 season with a mission taking off on April 1—marking the organization’s first flight with a new airline. This flight will depart from the main terminal at Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport, offering a more efficient experience for Veterans and guardians by reducing travel time and eliminating the need for bussing from the airport to the memorials.

The Welcome Home celebration will remain in its traditional location at the Grand Air Hangar, 11777 W. Airport Service Rd, Swanton, OH 43558. Doors will open for the public Welcome Home  gathering at 7:00 p.m.

Additional flights for 2025 are scheduled for June 3, September 9, and October 14. Veterans eligible for these missions include those who served during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Terminally ill Veterans receive top priority, followed by others in the order their applications were received.

As a 100% volunteer-led nonprofit, Flag City Honor Flight relies entirely on donations and community support to make these flights possible. The organization is actively seeking corporate and individual sponsors to help cover the costs of airfare, meals, transportation, and materials for each honored Veteran.

Community members are also encouraged to get involved by donating, volunteering at Welcome Home celebrations, or organizing third-party fundraisers. Every contribution—large or small—helps ensure more Veterans can experience this powerful day of remembrance and gratitude.
