ELIDA, OH (WLIO) - The Elida Local School District has hired a new treasurer to operate the district's fiscal responsibilities.
Larry Kaiser has been named as Elida's next treasurer. Kaiser served as treasurer for Continental Local Schools for the past 2 years with 4 years of prior experience working for an information technology center serving numerous area school districts, including Elida. At Tuesday night's Elida School Board of Education meeting, we talked with Elida Superintendent, Joel Mengerink, about what qualities he observes in Kaiser to positively guide the district.
"One of the positives, I think, that he brought out during the interview process was the fact that he likes to cut down on time and waste, and so, a lot of that would be moving some of our procedures to online versus passing papers back and forth. So, that's one of the big things, and that can have a big savings, not only in money from copy paper but also time as well for everybody," says Joel Mengerink, Superintendent, Elida Local Schools.
Mengerink also added that Kaiser will start the treasurer role in mid-May.
