LIMA, OH (WLIO) - To stir up interest in becoming involved in a neighborhood association, a new video has been released on the City of Lima's Facebook page.
The city has five active neighborhood associations, and they are being highlighted in the "Bridge the City" video that explains what they do in the community. Like many other non-profit organizations, they are seeing a decline in the number of people wanting to participate, and they hope this video will catch the attention of some people.
"We're just trying to remind everybody that neighborhood associations are still out there and they are still active, but they're wanting new people. They're wanting a bigger neighborhood association, they're wanting new ideas to come into their neighborhood associations. So, I met with all of the presidents, and we talked about where they are, what they do, and how to get involved," explained Sydni Winkler, Lima Neighborhood Specialist.
The Lima Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership, known as "LACNIP," is the umbrella organization for all the neighborhood associations and has a resource center at 1440 West Spring Street where the groups can meet and hold events. You can find out more about each of the neighborhood associations in the "Bridge the City" video on the City of Lima's Facebook page by visiting https://www.facebook.com/CityofLimaOH/videos/825020879455034.
