The Ohio Supreme Court will be looking at a new map that was done by the Ohio Redistricting Committee that was submitted on January 22nd to the court. Any briefs were to be filed by noon today. Ohio Speaker of the House Bob Cupp says that several changes were made in larger metropolitan areas to try and meet the required political proportionality in the Ohio Constitution.

State Representative and Ohio Speaker of the House Bob Cupp (R) adds, “We’re very hopeful that the court will see that we tried to comply. That we do not quite frankly see any other way to meet all the requirements in the constitution in a different way.”

Cupp says that the deadline for those running for office is coming close but does not see that there will be any need to change the Ohio primary. The Committee is still working on the Congressional Redistricting Map.
