LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A group of motorcycle enthusiasts kickstart Christmas with an annual event that helps bring presents and smiles to local kids. ABATE Ohio held its 38th annual Toy Run. More than 425 motorcycles crisscrossed Allen County to help raise money to buy presents for kids. The group helps many organizations with gifts. Last year, they were able to buy gifts for nearly 200 kids and help around 70 families through the West Ohio Community Action Partnership alone. Besides the Toy Run, there were auction items, a raffle, food, and more, to help as many children as possible this Christmas. Organizers are grateful for the continued support of their mission for nearly four decades.

“We had 38 years, and we still got this many motorcycles,” says Dana Frost, ABATE Toy Run. “Year after year, they are giving from the heart, it’s all for the kids. After all the hard work me and my wife put in, it’s great. My team inside doing everything. Yea, it’s worth it. It makes your heart feel good.”

Besides helping out in Allen County, ABATE provides toys to various organizations in a six county region.
