The president has signed off on funding for two military vehicles made at the joint systems manufacturing center.
On Saturday, President Obama signed the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act, the bill included 1.2 billion dollars that will go toward production of the Abrams Tank and Stryker Armored Vehicle. When production started to slow down back in 2013, the manufacturing plant was able to keep lines and employees working thanks help from Washington law makers, plus the foreign sales and systems upgrades, like those made on the Stryker vehicle, which will be used in Eastern Europe by the United State Military.
The plant is also looking to the future of national defense, as millions have been spent on recent upgrades at the plant to get it ready to make next-generation tanks now in development.
