State Patrol investigates fatal crash on Interstate 75

A fatal crash on I-75 left one dead and three seriously injured. The Lima Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol responded to a crash on April 10th, 2022 at 6:10 AM on Interstate 75 near mile marker 128.

Troopers say that a 2014 GMC Terrain, driven by Cameron Streibel, age 15, was traveling northbound with three passengers when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a drainage culvert and overturned. Streibel and two passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Streibel was transported by EMS with life-threatening injuries. The left rear passenger, William Morgan, age 20, and the right rear passenger, Harley Sharp, age 19, both were transported with serious injuries.

The front passenger of the vehicle, Colton Bonen, age 17, was pronounced deceased on scene by the Allen County Coroner. All four were from Galion, Ohio. Alcohol and Drugs are suspected to be a factor in the crash. The highway patrol also says that safety belts were not utilized by any of the occupants of the vehicle.

The patrol was assisted by the Lima Fire Department EMS, Perry Township EMS, Bath Township EMS, Miller Auto Incorporated, and the Allen County Sheriff's Office.
