Lieutenant Sisco began his Patrol career in October 2001 as a member of the 138th Academy Class. He earned his commission in April of the following year and was assigned to the Van Wert Post. In 2008, he earned the Criminal Patrol Award. He was selected as Post Trooper of the Year twice and District Trooper of the Year in 2009. In 2011, he also earned the Criminal Patrol Certificate. As a trooper, he also served at the Defiance Post.
As Ohioans and our visitors make their way to see family and friends this Thanksgiving, troopers will be making sure motorists are taking the proper safety measures by driving sober, not driving distracted, and wearing their safety belt. Troopers will be highly visible and cracking down on those driving impaired and those failing to wear a safety belt from Wednesday, November 23 at midnight through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 27.
The staff of the Sheriff’s Office and OSHP reminds citizens that 2022 has been a dangerous and deadly year on Mercer County roadways. Mercer County has already had 9 fatal crashes, with 10 people killed in those traffic crashes. The hope is that this extra patrol will help keep our roadways safe. Please be safe this Thanksgiving!
The new TikTok account will primarily be utilized for recruitment purposes to promote interaction and create a community of engagement with those seeking to make a difference in their communities and looking for a career of service. TikTok content will feature an innovative look at the rewarding career opportunities within the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and will be another platform on which to provide traffic safety messaging.
The Wapakoneta post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports 38-year-old Sandra Wills of St. Marys was pronounced dead at the scene. The pedestrian crash in Auglaize County happened just after midnight. The patrol reports Wills was laying partially in the north lane of Lambert Road just North of US 33 when she was struck by an SUV driven by 17-year-old Landon Plattner.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting four fatal traffic crashes which claimed four lives over the Labor Day holiday weekend according to provisional data. The data collected points to the 2022 Labor Day holiday weekend as being the safest since 2010.
The Lima Police Department say they were called out around 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday to a disturbance at 1610 South Union Street. There they spoke with Lane Riley, a woman from Van Wert, who reported that she was assaulted by 34-year-old Jacquavious Cartwright. She reported that a handgun was used by Cartwright and that he was still armed inside the house.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol wants to hire a few more troopers to keep the roads safe. The patrol is currently looking for quality candidates to fill their ranks around the state. As a trooper, people need to fill a lot of different roles in their day-to-day operation, so they are looking for the right men and women to help protect Ohioans.
