LIMA (WLIO)Â -Â The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities announced a number of exciting news happening for the board at today's meeting.
Linda Lehman, who has served 12 years on the board, is about to wrap up her tenure.
She was recognized tonight for her dedication and support of the board, since joining in 2012.
Melissa Place took the oath of office to take over for Lehman, a big moment, as Place will be the first person who receives services from the board to serve as one of its members.
Place added, "I'm very excited. This is a new thing for myself and the board, and I feel very honor to serve the board. I'm really excited to be able to represent people in the community with disabilities and serve them."
Board officials say they're excited for the direction they are taking in the year ahead, as well as Place's future in her new role.
