Alberta Lee was honored with the inaugural Drs. Earl and Nancy Keese Community Leadership Award. President Dr. Cynthia Spiers says Lee's name came right to mind when determining the award winner. Lee has dedicated her life to Allen County and Rhodes State College. She has served in a number of capacities like an Allen County Commissioner. For the college, she's involved with the Rhodes State College Foundation Board and had a direct hand in bringing the new Center for Health Science Education building to downtown Lima.

Phase one of the Lima Rotary amphitheater project is almost complete thanks to two major donations. On Monday, Mercy Health-St. Rita's making a $50,000 donation to the project as part of their commitment to the community and revitalization of downtown Lima. Former Allen County commissioner, Alberta Lee, also making a $50,000 donation to help with a project she says will benefit many in the Lima area.

On March 30 the HYHO club, along with the community, gathered to honor six hidden figures, a group of women who they say have devoted their time and effort into improving the community.

Elizabeth Harper, Beverly McCoy, Martha MacDonell, Mildred Stewart , Ellen Wright and Alberta Lee, were all awarded hidden figure awards at the 2019 HYHO luncheon at the Old Barn Out Back.
