Phase one of the Lima Rotary amphitheater project is almost complete thanks to two major donations.

On Monday, Mercy Health-St. Rita's making a $50,000 donation to the project as part of their commitment to the community and revitalization of downtown Lima. Former Allen County commissioner, Alberta Lee, also making a $50,000 donation to help with a project she says will benefit many in the Lima area.

"Mercy Health is very committed to our community. It aligns with our mission and our desire to be apart of the revitilization of downtown Lima. We're thrilled with the work that the Rotary is doing and we're humbled to be able to contribute to those efforts," said Ronda Lehman, President of Mercy Health Lima Area.

"To help get our community going, keep it going, and offer activities the citizens will use and come and I thought this was the most obvious," commented Alberta Lee, former Allen County commissioner.

Buildings have been demolished, fill dirt is coming and seeding for grass will be done within 30 days completing phase one.
