DELPHOS (WLIO) — Delphos Jefferson kept its strong start rolling with an 11-1 win over Columbus Grove in five innings in Northwest Conference play.
The Wildcats took control early with a four-run first inning, highlighted by Megan Kerner’s line-drive triple to left field that brought home Jefferson’s fourth run.
Columbus Grove threatened in the second when Lillian Ledford doubled into left field with two outs, but the Bulldogs could not bring her home.
Jefferson added three more runs in the bottom of the second, including a two-run double from Isabela Basinger. Carolyn Mueller later drove in Brylee Geary as the Wildcats continued to add on.
Katie Busick recorded a strikeout for Columbus Grove, but Jefferson’s offense stayed in command throughout to secure its fourth straight win and conference-opening victory.
