LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Allen County Commissioners met on Wednesday for their capital budget meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to give funds to agencies that need money to make improvements to buildings, vehicles and equipment. One request came from the sheriff's office, asking the commissioners to provide four new cruisers after two cars had been damaged in wreaks.
"There was two of them involved in a crash, so we're replacing two. When we get the cost back, we'll understand and see how much it's going to cost overall. Then, replacing those two that were crashed and then replacing two additional because of the rotation and the high milage on some of the other cruisers," said County Commissioner Brian Winegardner.
Commissioners say that replacing the damaged cruisers is a top priority, and they expect new vehicles will be purchased before the end of the year.
