The class made several stops Friday at locations that receive funding from the United Way of Greater Lima. At Soldiers of Honor, they learned about how the boxing program helps youth and adults find their way. They also took a swing at the Rock Steady Boxing program from the Senior Citizens Services. They heard from 10 agencies that receive funding from the United Way that meet the requirements of their mission.

The Allen Lima Leadership class was back on the road on Friday, visiting the Ohio State Lima campus. A panel including faculty and students giving class members the run-down on programs offered at the Lima campus and how they've grown over the years. A big focus was the impact Ohio State Lima has had on the region, training students for a variety of fields from healthcare to manufacturing. Allen Lima Leadership executive director Matt Childers says the campus provides a link to many of the fields they'll explore throughout their course.
