LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Allen Lima Leadership class was back on the road on Friday, visiting the Ohio State Lima campus.

A panel including faculty and students giving class members the rundown on programs offered at the Lima campus and how they've grown over the years. A big focus was the impact Ohio State Lima has had on the region, training students for a variety of fields from healthcare to manufacturing.
Allen Lima Leadership executive director Matt Childers says the campus provides a link to many of the fields they'll explore throughout their course.
The Allen Lima Leadership class also learned how there's a growing effort across campus to get students to broaden their horizons while in school.
"The level of tuition and how high the cost of education is, to be able to have a branch campus here of the Ohio State University, which they would know in Tokyo, or they would know across the globe, is really a great asset to our community, and I think a lot of people are learning that today," explained Matt Childers, executive director of Allen Lima Leadership.
The Allen Lima Leadership class also learned how there's a growing effort across campus to get students to broaden their horizons while in school by joining clubs and other groups and getting involved and volunteering in their community.
A big focus was the impact Ohio State Lima has had on the region, training students for a variety of fields from healthcare to manufacturing.
"I mean, learning just doesn't take place in the classroom. The learning experience at the college level is in every aspect of engaging in a college degree. So students can find that eclipsed in organizations, they can find it through faculty and staff mentorship; they can find it in their lectures and their labs doing all kinds of practical and theoretical experience," stated Georgia Bass, director of enrollment at Ohio State Lima.
