The class made several stops at locations that receive funding from the United Way of Greater Lima. At Soldiers of Honor, they learned about how the boxing program helps youth and adults find their way. They also took a swing at the Rock Steady Boxing program from the Senior Citizens Services. They heard from 10 agencies that receive funding from the United Way that meet the requirements of their mission.

"Every one of our programs have to fit into one of those impact areas, and those are the programs that we fund. They have to fit into health, education, or financial stability. Those are the three areas they have to fit into. So every one of our programs fits into one of those areas to help somebody improve their lives and to give them a hand up. So they can be stable and financially free. They can do what they want to do," said Erin Hardesty, executive director of the United Way of Greater Lima.
