ELIDA, Ohio (WLIO) — Division VII tournament play brought another matchup between the Miller City Wildcats and the McComb Panthers, with a regional semifinal berth on the line.
Miller City, which won the regular-season meeting between the two, carried that confidence into the second half.
Following a turnover, junior Anna Lammers came away with the ball and finished through contact for the three-point play. She paced the Wildcats with a game-high 16 points.
McComb attempted to chip into the deficit as Claire Bryan converted an inside bucket, but the Panthers trailed by 15 entering the fourth quarter.
Morgan Kern attacked the rim and led McComb with 15 points in the contest.
The Wildcats continued to build their advantage down the stretch. Freshman Sophia Ruck found an open lane to the basket and added 15 points, while Elizabeth Erford matched that total with 15 of her own.
Miller City closed out a 65-47 victory and will take on the Stryker Panthers in the regional semifinals on Tuesday, March 3 in Bluffton.
