Commissioners on Thursday approving the use of $231,000 to replace security cameras at the Allen County Justice Center. The current system of 90 cameras is 30 years old, analog, no longer able to be repaired and are original to the building. They will be receiving 108 new cameras within the next month which will be significant for the Justice Center.
An inmate tested positive for the virus last week. The protocols established had the inmate placed in isolation in the infirmary unit. A sheriff's office representative says while there, that inmate is still having his necessities met. The inmate has been in jail for some time and was not new to the building. New inmates are being housed in newcomer units for a 14 day period. As of Tuesday morning, there are no other positive cases.
A man in a semi-truck strung along police for hours and threatened innocent people. A Spencerville area man refused to pull over when the Spencerville Police Department attempted a traffic stop. What ensued was a nearly two-hour chase resulting in the man’s death.
The Allen County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the 32-year-old Kentucky man found dead in the pond in Allen County. Investigators say Johnnie Hamm was found in the pond with the cap of a syringe and narcotics nearby. It's believed Hamm's body was in the water for two to three weeks. He also had a national warrant out for his arrest after cutting off his ankle monitor.

The weather this morning turned out to help the Allen County Sheriff's Office in recovering stolen property, taken from Bobcat of Lima. According to the sheriff's office, around 2:00 this morning, three utility vehicles were taken from Bobcat and they have now recovered two vehicles with a third still missing.
