The Auglaize County Homeless Coalition, funded entirely by donations, has helped about 400 residents this year as it works to address homelessness and rising housing costs.
The Auglaize County Emergency Management Agency is in the process of relocating one of its offices from rural Auglaize County to the municipal building in St. Marys.
The Glacier Hill Lakes RV Resort and several surrounding houses southeast of Wapakoneta were struck last night. Houses lost entire walls and roofs, while many trailers and RVs were blown at least several feet and flipped over. Residents report that the resort's main office is mostly gone. One woman said that she had been driving to check on family in the area when she watched the funnel cloud drop to the ground.
The National Weather Service was in Auglaize County Saturday afternoon and determined that at least one tornado, and potentially more, struck the county causing a few injuries and a lot of damage.
It was something that the City of St. Marys had not seen in some time - flood waters reaching feet deep in places and causing damage for just about everyone throughout the city. In an effort to evaluate just how extensive the damage is, Auglaize County Emergency Management has created a document where residents and businesses can put in what kinds of damage that they are looking at after the flood.
