A multiple vehicle crash in Shawnee Township sends two to the hospital.

A three-car accident in Shawnee Township sends an SUV into the side of a home. No one was injured in the crash that happened before noon at the intersection of Breese Road and Wapak Road. Shawnee township police said that the car ran the stop sign on Breese Road, striking the SUV, pushing it off the road, and eventually into the side of a house in the three thousand block of Wapak Road. A pickup truck was struck during the crash.
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, beginning at 8:00 a.m., the Allen County Engineer's Office will be performing roadway maintenance on S. Dixie Highway at Breese Road, southbound traffic. During maintenance, drivers should anticipate some delays.
The Allen County Engineer's Office announcing that Breese Road, between McClain Road and State Route 65, will be closed on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. for paving. There will be no access during closure.

Plans for a major road construction project in Shawnee Township are underway. The Allen County Engineer has secured federal funding that will cover the majority of a 2.8-million-dollar project that will make improvements at both the Shawnee Road and Breese Road intersection along with the South Dixie and Breese Road intersection. Breese Road between the two intersections will also get improvements along with new pavement. A recent study has been completed on what changes would increase the safety of those areas.
