The mental and emotional needs of area residents are significant, and Cornerstone of Hope Lima is working to meet those needs.
The holiday season is all about celebrating and being together, and that's what the Auglaize County Veterans Commission did on Sunday! They held their 4th annual brunch for Auglaize County veterans and their families. They love seeing new and returning veterans come and enjoy the meal with their loved ones, not only thanking the veterans for what they gave for our country, but giving them a group to celebrate the holiday season with.
It was good food and good conversation for the 2nd annual Veterans’ Holiday Brunch in Wapakoneta. The Auglaize County Veteran Services hosted the free meal for veterans and their families which ranged from eggs and bacon to turkey and macaroni and cheese. They expected around two hundred people for the meal, which continues the veteran services mission to make connections to the Auglaize County men and women that served in the military. But also, they want to have veterans make connections to one another, especially around the holidays.
The Meadows of Delphos held a Veterans Day brunch where veterans enjoyed a buffet-style meal, a bingo event, as well as Delphos Jefferson school choir were just some of the ways that they showed the veterans that they care and are thankful for their service. Two veterans from the Meadows of Delphos also recently went on an Honor Flight and said that the trip was an eye-opening experience.
