A one-of-a-kind collection of the rarest historic military planes in the world is at the Allen County Regional Airport. The Commemorative Air Force's Flying Legends of Victory Tour has made its way to the Lima area to showcase their restored World War II aircraft. Individuals there can climb into the B-17 flying fortress "Sentimental Journey" and B-25 Mitchell "Maid in the Shade" bombers. This once-in-a-lifetime experience allows people to not only tour the planes but an opportunity to go for a ride as well.

One of the most iconic planes from World War II is the B-17 Bomber - a plane that protected our country back in the day, and one of those B-17 Bombers flew into Allen County as part of the "Summer Flying Legends of History" tour.
