It was a busy Tuesday evening for the president, Board of Trustees, and cabinet members at Rhodes State College. The Rhodes State Board held their regular meeting earlier Tuesday evening.
The Bike and Pedestrian Task Force discussed ways to improve overall transportation in the area, with a focus on youth. The group says that they want to gather input from the area's young minds in order to have their voices heard, as well as give them a chance to participate in making a change in their community.

Justice Sharon Kennedy has been traveling across the state in order to promote veteran treatment courts, which aim to help veterans who return from service and are suffering from PTSD and other issues. Kennedy says that she has had many conversations with leaders in the state in order to advance the court to the level it needs to be to help veterans.
Superior Credit Union and OSU Lima held their "Real World/Real Money" workshop with 8th-grade students, putting them through the struggles and headaches that come with managing a monthly budget. Each student received a simulation of living as a 25-year-old adult and was assigned jobs and families. They then would learn to balance their budget to live a month in the life of an adult.
Unity Elementary School students were awarded Monday for getting their groove on in the classroom.
Live Symphony Storytime was held at the Auglaize County Public District Library, with a special theme of "opposites". The program drew parallels between concepts of contract using musical examples to accompany the stories. A focus on creative movement and music literacy was also presented at the event.
The Allen County Family and Children First Council has been without a coordinator since April, and the search continues for someone to fill that seat. In its monthly meeting this Monday, officials said they are looking at five or six candidates.
