Firefighters were called out to 225 South Scott Street just before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. Smoke was coming from the attic area and fire was seen on the side of the house, which was vacant. Crews were on scene for a couple of hours. After investigating, they determined the fire was intentionally set. The cost of the damage is around $12,000.

Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia gave an update to commissioners on the equitable wage increases that were given to the union staffing at the sheriff's office. He says that they are doing what they were meant to do. They have been able to retain employees and have even attracted and hired new staff.
