October 28, 2024, Press Release from the Office of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost: (DELAWARE, Ohio) — The former marketing director of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, who pleaded guilty to 16 felonies, was sentenced to five years in prison today for his role in a scheme that defrauded the zoo of at least $2.3 million, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced. On July 2, Pete Fingerhut pleaded guilty to aggravated theft, conspiracy, tampering with records, and telecommunications fraud. He also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of falsification.

We are three days from the election and two democratic candidates for statewide offices come to lima to talk to supporters about their plans, if they get elected.  Ohio Attorney General candidate Jeff Crossman and Ohio Treasurer candidate Scott Schertzer stopping by the Allen County Democratic headquarters ahead of a "Get Out the Vote" canvass.  Crossman is a current state representative, and he says he worked hard to get former Speaker of the Ohio House Larry Householder out of office when the First Energy scandal broke. Householder allegedly got millions of dollars in bribery money, to get a $1 billion bailout package passed for the energy company.  One of his missions, if elected, is to end corruption like that in Columbus and around the state. 

The former Allen County Sheriff pleaded guilty to for asking for and taking bribes from people arrested in prostitution stings, suspected gamblers and others. Samuel A. Crish, 56, is scheduled to be sentenced later this year. He pleaded guilty to multiple counts of extortion and soliciting bribes.
