LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A Cleveland-area lawyer has entered the race to become Ohio’s next attorney general. Elliot Forhan met with the Allen County Democrats on Saturday to discuss his campaign.

Forhan launches bid for Ohio Attorney General, promises to fight corruption

Forhan practiced law in New York before returning to Ohio. He has also won cases against lawyers from current Attorney General Dave Yost’s office. Forhan says he wants to bring change to the role as he takes on the responsibilities of Ohio’s top legal office.

“To uphold the Constitution and to enforce the law, and that includes ending the culture of corruption here in the State of Ohio, including catching and prosecuting rich tax cheats, enforcing the guarantee under the Ohio Constitution of equal funding of public schools,” says Elliot Forhan, Democratic candidate for Ohio attorney general.

Forhan says the Ohio attorney general should also hold the federal government accountable.

“State Attorneys General across the United States have been holding this federal government accountable and stopping them when they've gone out outside, as they have, and that's what we need right here in Ohio. Because Dave Yost, he hasn't just been standing on the sidelines, okay, he's been cheering on Elon Musk and Donald Trump. So, we need to change. We need to change there,” adds Forhan.

The only other declared candidate for attorney general is current Ohio Auditor Keith Faber, running on the Republican ticket.
