An Ohio Highway State Patrol Cruiser was involved in what appeared to be a two-vehicle crash on Lima's north side Monday evening. Details currently remain very limited, but the crash occurred at the intersection of West Robb Avenue and North Cole Streets around 9 PM Monday. The Allen County Sheriff's Office along with American Township responded to the scene. Information about any injuries and how the crash happened are unknown. We will update this story as those details become available.

A Findlay man is arrested after striking a Hancock County Sheriff's cruiser during a short chase on Saturday.  37-year-old Chandler Parker was booked on several felony charges following the police chase that happened just after 7 o'clock Saturday night.  Deputies located a vehicle that was taken by Parker, who was not authorized to use it.   Parker drives away when deputies tried to do a traffic stop.  During the chase, Parker stopped the vehicle, put it in reverse, and hit the deputy's car.  He later stopped at a nearby gas station where he was taken into custody.  Deputies believe he was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

29-year-old Jacquelynn Slone will be transferred to Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital until she is restored to competency and able to stand trial on the charges of felonious assault and failure to comply with a police officer. According to the Van Wert County Sheriff, they got a call from Mercer County on February 11th, that Slone almost struck a cruiser head-on around Rockford.

In November 2021, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Governor Mike DeWine announced a $15 million investment to give troopers body worn cameras and upgraded their in-car camera system. This week, installers from Axon were working on putting the system in the cruisers for the Findlay District which makes up the northwest part of the state from Lucas down to Allen County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says that Cortez Larkin, 38 has been charged with speeding and failure to comply. Larkin and Kaneasha Price, 37 are facing charges of tampering with evidence and receiving stolen property. Around 9:30 pm Tuesday, a trooper attempted to stop Larkin outside of Bowling Green for a speeding violation, they found out the vehicle was stolen. Larkin took off south down eye 75, troopers deployed stop sticks at various locations during the chase. One was able to blow both front tires.
