A St. Marys woman has been found incompetent to stand trial for striking a Van Wert Sheriff deputy’s cruiser during a police chase in February.
29-year-old Jacquelynn Slone will be transferred to Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital until she is restored to competency and able to stand trial on the charges of felonious assault and failure to comply with a police officer.
According to the Van Wert County Sheriff, they got a call from Mercer County on February 11th, that Slone almost struck a cruiser head-on around Rockford. Van Wert deputies located the vehicle and deployed stop sticks, which Slone hit and continued into Van Wert. There she struck the deputy's cruiser and was arrested.
