VAN BUREN (WLIO) — Liberty-Benton outlasted Van Buren in a back-and-forth Blanchard Valley Conference battle, winning 7-4 in eight innings.
Van Buren took the lead in the sixth when Jacob Harrington laid down a bunt to score Hunter Craft. The Black Knights added another run moments later as Carson Cripple’s fly ball allowed Kolton Wilson to tag and score.
Liberty-Benton responded to tie the game at four, forcing extra innings.
In the eighth, the Eagles loaded the bases and regained control. Corbin Schworm delivered a go-ahead hit over center field, and Jackson Knepper added another run with a sacrifice fly.
