Father David Ross is in to talk about retirement and when is the right time to do it- or is there a time to retire?
Father David Ross has a quiz from an article he read about manners and good behavior, especially when using cellphones.
Ross says, “We were able to have a meeting with the Holy Father, Pope Benedict at the time, and I remember very vividly he always had beside him, when he was giving a papal audience a glass of apple juice which he would enjoy to wet his lips so to speak during the ceremonies and things of that nature.”
Parishioners at St. John’s in Lima gathered on Sunday after not being able to hold in-person services last Easter.
The St. John and St. Rose parishes are now one of many other area churches who have decided to suspend regular service due to the coronavirus pandemic. But they're not letting that stop them from keeping people connected.
Live streaming church service on Sundays is just one of the ways the parishes are looking to keep people in engaged. This week they will also be sending out a mass mailing to their church members. They will receive information about services available to them and ways in which they can stay in touch.
Lima's four catholic churches took time on Memorial Day to pay respects fallen soldiers, and also to loved ones that they have lost over the past year. Flags were placed before the graves at Gethsemani Cemetery of those brave men and women who have served in the armed services at some point in their life. Plus an outdoor mass took place on the cemetery grounds, with a reading of the names of the loved ones that passed away over the last year.
