Allen County Job and Family Services officials say eight fraud cases have been sent to court since the end of 2024 involving false information used to obtain public assistance benefits.
The cases resulted in more than $160,000 in overpayments, and officials say more investigations are ongoing.
Allen County Job and Family Services said an investigation found Owsley claimed she was living in Lima when she was actually living in Edon and was not eligible for the benefits.

Timothy DeHaven, owner of DeHaven Home and Garden Showplace, pleaded guilty to seven felony charges, which includes selling without a license, filing incomplete, false, and fraudulent tax returns and failing to file monthly tax returns for his business.
