September 9, 2024, Press Release from the Hancock Historical Museum: Findlay, OH – The Hancock Historical Museum welcomes all ages to step back into the 19th century and tour its Little Red Schoolhouse during an Open House from 1 – 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. Museum docents will guide visitors as they explore the one-room schoolhouse and children can partake in activities provided. The Little Red Schoolhouse located at 8884 County Road 236, Findlay, OH was built in 1882 and used to educate schoolchildren until 1936. It was then used to store grain for 36 years until the Hancock County Retired Teachers and the Hancock Historical Society restored the schoolhouse in 1972. Today, it is owned and operated by the Hancock Historical Museum and hosts area third and fourth grade students for field trips each year.

July 23, 2024, Press Release from the Superior Foundation: LIMA, OH—The Superior Foundation has awarded 32 scholarships for the foundation’s sixth annual scholarship award season. Each student received a $1,000 scholarship. Any Superior Credit Union member who meets the scholarship eligibility requirements is welcome to apply. Applicant must be a member of Superior Credit Union and a full-time student enrolled at an accredited technical school, college, or university. Applicants must have graduated from high school, completed at least one semester at an accredited technical school, college, or university, and have a minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA at the time of application.

Heir Force Community School unveils a bright new future, with new buildings and opportunities on the way. That new chapter for Heir Force Community School begins this summer, as they are moving out of buildings owned by Cornerstone Church and into their own space. Heir Force has bought the building at 799 North Main Street and will be turning that into a kindergarten through fourth grade building. The renovations of this new space will begin this school year.

Adults with disabilities get all the glamour and spotlight for a day to remember. The Starry Starry Night 2024 Prom was held at Hart Hall in Allen County on Friday afternoon to bring people from across the state together and give them a chance to experience prom. The event was hosted by ViaQuest Day and Employment, a company that supports adults with disabilities.

The West Central Learning Academy is celebrating the high marks they received on their last state report card. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce presented the school with their exceeding the standards banner for their outstanding academic achievement for the last school year. The academy offers a flexible learning option for students in 9th through 12th grade, and it has a dropout prevention and recovery program to help students up to 22 years old get caught up in their education and graduate.
