LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Adults with disabilities get all the glamour and spotlight for a day to remember.

The Starry Starry Night 2024 Prom was held at Hart Hall in Allen County on Friday afternoon to bring people from across the state together and give them a chance to experience prom. The event was hosted by ViaQuest Day and Employment, a company that supports adults with disabilities.

The prom included a photo booth, a DJ, and a dance floor. A king and queen were also crowned. Everyone at the big event said they felt like royalty for the day.

"They want to have fun; they want to be accepted. They want the community to see them as normal, just as you and I are. We want them to have the same opportunity and experiences. So I am over 7 locations, and so we'll do prom king and queen for each one of those locations so that everybody gets a chance. So we're going to go up, and then we're gonna announce them, and they have the crown and the sash and everything, and then we have like this confetti that will go off when we announce their names. It's gonna be so awesome, and they don't even know it yet," said Latasha Fisher, executive director of ViaQuest Day and Employment Services.

This was the first prom of the seven locations for the company, and the first prom they've held in Lima.
