The Ohio Republican Party chair has been traveling the state to talk to voters about State Issue One. The "No On One" bus tour rolled into Lima this morning to rally Allen County GOP voters to get out and vote. State Issue One was put on by a citizens group to change the process of redistricting map drawing in Ohio from a group of elected state officials to a citizens panel that would be made up of 15 people that would draw the political boundaries for Ohio congressional, State Senate, and State House seats.

OHIO (WLIO) - The Ohio Secretary of State's Office says there are over 150,000 voters that will be dropped off voting rolls across the state next week unless voters act and update their information. The names were generated because voters have filed a national change of address form and are no longer able to vote at the old address, or because the inactive voter registration has previously been flagged for removal but has not been removed yet. There are state and federal laws that say that inactive voters for four years must be removed by July 22, 2024.

The Elias Law Group alleges the provisions impose "needless and discriminatory burdens'' on voting. Governor Mike DeWine has signed into law a requirement that all Ohioans show photo ID to vote. The new mandate is part of package of election law changes the governor signed Friday, after it was sent to him by the Republican-led legislature. The new law also shrinks the windows for mail-in ballots to be counted and for curing provisional ballots, and eliminates a day of early voting. Their backers say the changes further protect against fraud and speeds up vote counting that's been more closely scrutinized since 2020. Opponents call the changes cumbersome and unnecessary because voting fraud is rare.
