Democrat Scott Schertzer says he would like to see more public service not self-service in the Ohio Treasurer's office. The longtime Mayor of Marion, Ohio worked in the state treasurer's office under Ohio’s 42nd Treasurer Mary Ellen Withrow, who served in the late 80's and early 90's. He says that she was an inspiration for him and the example she set for public service.

Last week, Governor Mike DeWine opened the "Ohio Summit on Ukrainian Refugees" to get the state prepared if any of the refugees make their way to our state. Could it be possible that any would make their way to our region of the state? The answer is unknown. The West Ohio Community Action Partnership says if it does occur there is assistance they could provide them.
Council also approved agreements for ten projects that are looking at getting federal funding through the Community Development Block Grant Program and the HOME Funds through the Housing and Urban Development Program.
