The 22nd annual Flag City BalloonFest will be taking over Emory Park in Findlay. The 50 hot air balloons from all over the United States will be on hand, which is the most that the event has ever had. The balloons will be in the skies every morning all weekend and part of the illuminations tonight and Saturday at 9 p.m. plus, there are helicopter and tethered balloon rides that people can pay to take part in. But the hot air balloons are just part of the fun.
17 veterans left Lima Monday evening to meet up with others in Detroit to fly to Washington D.C. This is the first of three trips to the United States’ capital that the Flag City Honor Flight will be making in 2022. The trips are completely free for the veterans, and it gives them the chance to visit the national monuments that were built in their honor.
It has become one of the premier hot air balloon festivals in the region, bringing thousands of visitors to the Flag City.
