Ohio health officials say that hospitalizations because of influenza have increased by 116%, and medical officials are also seeing the spread of norovirus across the United States. Norovirus causes predominantly nausea, vomiting, and some diarrhea; it is also highly contagious. Flu can be more serious with body aches, fever, cough, and other respiratory problems.

Disease-related costs can jeopardize a family’s financial security, and many families and caregivers make enormous personal and financial sacrifices.
Around 15% of American adults—36 million people—have mild to moderate hearing loss. And that is not limited to older adults. With hearing aids allowed to be sold over the counter, Apple has designed its AirPods Pro 2 headphones to screen for hearing loss and function as hearing aids.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says that bird flu may have been found in waterfowl in Auglaize and Mercer counties. They collected many dead wild birds to be tested for highly pathogenic avian flu, and they say that the virus is presumed to be found in eleven counties, including Auglaize and Mercer Counties. Canada geese, trumpeter swans, and mallards have been tested in the last few weeks.
This is the first confirmed case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Flu at a commercial facility in Ohio in 2024.

The GE Revolution Ascend CT scanner was installed at Van Wert Hospital on Friday, December 20th, as part of a $1 million investment to upgrade this service for patients. It produces high quality images, making it easy for radiologists to read the scans.
There are several levels of nursing that someone can earn, depending on what kind of care they would like to provide for patients. One of those levels is a Licensed Practical Nurse or LPN, and students at Rhodes State College can become an LPN with the college's Practical Nursing Certificate Program.
