LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Allen Lima Leadership group getting a glimpse of the medical career field on Friday.

Once a month the group meets to learn about different aspects of the Allen County community and build skills to become successful leaders. On Friday, they visited with health professionals from Lima Memorial Health System and then took a tour of the Rhodes State College Borra Center in downtown Lima.

Allen Lima Leadership gets a look at the medical field for monthly meeting

The assistant deans of the nursing college as well as dean of health sciences and public services lent their expertise about how their leadership skills developed throughout their careers to bring Rhodes State College where it is today, and with a new state-of-the-art facility like the Borra Center to show for it.

"One thing we definitely want to showcase is that Rhodes State College is the college of Lima and the surrounding community, that it's affordable education, and we have the state of the art facilities from our high fidelity mannequins to our really well equipped technological labs in physical and occupational therapy, our latest program of surgical technology, and just the incredible affordability and a top-notch education that students get in this area," said Angela Heaton, Dean of Health Sciences & Public Service for Rhodes State College.

In May, the Allen Lima Leadership group will learn about the local media and the Downtown Renaissance Day which will take place on Friday, May 9th.
