Flag City outlasts Mariners in 11 innings to extend winning streak

CELINA, Ohio - The Flag City Sluggers extended their winning streak to five games Friday, edging the Grand Lake Mariners in an 11-inning contest at Montgomery Field.
Mickey Anderson gave the Sluggers an early 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly in the first. Parker Faris struck out five over five innings for Flag City, while Grand Lake's Landon Nichols went 5 1/3 innings with three strikeouts.
The game went to an 11th-inning tiebreaker, where the Mariners failed to score, allowing the Sluggers to claim the 5-5 victory. The series continues Saturday night in Celina.
