A 16-year-old has been arrested for the death of a Findlay student over the weekend. The Toledo Police Department says that the male teen was arrested and charged with the murder of 18-year-old Jaidon Mangas. The teen is currently in the juvenile justice center in Lucas County. Mangas was found with a gunshot wound Saturday on the south side of Toledo. He was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. Mangas was a student at Findlay High School.

November 24, 2024, Press Release from the Van Wert County Sheriff's Office: Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach announced that deputies are investigating the death of two people found in Ohio City. Sheriff Riggenbach stated that on 11/24/2024 at approximately 8:09 AM hours, his office received a call from an individual stating that a friend had confessed to killing his girlfriend and another man. The caller said the friend also said he was going to kill himself. The caller explained the friend had left and was no longer with the caller. A deputy responded to the caller's location to gather additional information while deputies continued working on the information the caller initially provided. Sheriff Riggenbach advised that deputies obtained additional information by talking to several different people and made entry to a home in Ohio City to check the welfare of the home resident. Once inside the house, deputies located a female and male subject who were both deceased as a result of gunshot wounds. Deputies secured the home and contacted the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to respond and assist in processing the crime scene.

The sheriff's office has not released many details as of yet, but they say the incident happened on Charledon Avenue Tuesday afternoon. Deputies say a victim was taken to Lima Memorial, where they were pronounced deceased. A suspect has been taken into custody. Speed is suspected to be a factor in a motorcycle crash that killed an Alger man Thursday night. The Hardin County Sheriff's Office reports that Chad Goodin died at the scene of the crash on State Route 235. Officials say he was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from his motorcycle.
