The Lima Memorial Women’s Health Center hosted its 29th annual Hope Garden Celebration, honoring breast cancer survivors and their journeys of strength and perseverance.
“Sometimes when we’re going through an event that we would rather not go through, having others around us who have gone through a similar experience gives us some comfort, some peace,” said Dr. Darlene Weyer, medical director of LMHS Women’s Imaging Center. “When you’re a breast cancer survivor, you can look around and see others who have been through that same journey, and they’re five, 10, 15, 20 years out, doing well, living life, and enjoying themselves.”
Breast cancer survivors come together to spread a message of hope.
Lima Memorial Health System is inviting breast cancer survivors to celebrate their journey. On October 17, 2024, the Women's Health Center will be holding its 28th annual Hope Garden Celebration. The celebration is not only for survivors but for their friends and family who were by their side every step of the way. There will be entertainment and games, prayers and reflection, but most importantly, hope from other survivors who have been on the same journey.
