The Husky Refinery in Lima wants to notify the public of safety training they are having this week. On Friday, March 26th, emergency personnel at the refinery will conduct live fire training in a dedicated section. The plant regularly holds these exercises to ensure efficient emergency response if ever needed. The public is advised that smoke and flames may be visible, but it's all part of the training.

Both are Canadian companies, and the merger will make the combined company the 3rd largest oil and gas producer in that country. Besides the Lima Refinery, Husky has a 50% stake in the Toledo Refinery, both operations are equipped to process the heavy Canadian crude produced by Cenovus. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021.

Husky Energy is on the hunt for potential replacements for some of their baby boomers who are getting ready to retire. The refinery is looking to hire 20 Process Operators in Lima by the end of spring. Those hired would be responsible for overseeing the safe operation and maintenance for safety-sensitive process operating areas. The job requires working with high pressures and high temperatures with specific guidelines, but it's an important one for day-to-day operations at the refinery.
