One of the largest events at the Allen County Fairgrounds kicked off Friday for the Labor Day weekend! Max's Trader Days and Water Dog Races returned for another year of residents and shoppers to relax and shop. In addition to purchasing items at vendors, the weekend will have plenty of other fun including the high-energy water dog races, enjoying your favorite foods, karaoke, and camping. Organizers say that there are over 1,800 in attendance this year, a statistic that helps to unite the community and funnel hundreds of thousands of dollars into the local economy.

On Labor Day weekend people are anxious to get to their destinations, but sometimes being in a big hurry isn't the best choice. Drivers that exceed the speed limit and breaking safety laws just to gain a little extra time at their destination aren't missed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

This holiday weekend, Ohioans are planning longer, more expensive trips than in years past. AAA booking data has shown that Ohio travelers are taking an extra day off to extend their holiday from 4 days to 5.
