June 4, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal: Columbus, OH – The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal’s (SFM’s) Forensic Laboratory has been awarded a $239,250 grant to purchase cutting-edge technology to enhance its investigation capabilities. The Forensic Lab investigates fires and explosions that occur across the state.
For many, it's a chance to contribute in the medical field without having direct patient care, and that was the perfect combination for Maggie Becker, who got her undergrad at Ohio State and found that lab work was what she was interested in after getting her phlebotomy certification.
Tuesday was a special day for Rhodes State College faculty, staff, and students as the "Rhodes in Motion" mobile lab has finally arrived! The mobile lab is situated within a coach bus where the interior has been converted to a state-of-the-art laboratory.
The company currently employs 270 people at its Spencerville location. Construction on the expansion should be completed and ready for use by July 2023. Regional growth partnership, Allen Economic Development Group, Jobs Ohio, and the Village of Spencerville were all involved in making the project happen.
