Lima South Science and Technology Magnet students engaged in fun science lessons on Tuesday. The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District hosted the life science lessons for students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Various topics were on the table, including living versus non-living, energy transfer, the food chain, and even worms. Not only can the science lessons be brought back to the classroom, but they will also help prepare students for field trips planned in the spring.

Safety City Summer Academy is celebrating a successful season. This week marked the end of this year's academy, filled with important lessons and activities at Safety City. Hundreds of kids have graduated with new skills to protect them from potentially dangerous scenarios. Parents and instructors watched proudly as the children earned their certificates and bags of completion at the ceremony.

In small communities, programs like 4-H are essential for teaching kids valuable leadership skills and life lessons. Pearl Lewandowski takes us to the heart of the Putnam County Fair to learn more. The Putnam County Fair is more than just rides, food, and games. It's a showcase of hard work and dedication for kids in 4-H and Junior Fair. Most of them have been raising animals and competing since they were in elementary school. They say the program has taught them some great lessons.

It was back to school this week for some kids in Delphos, but the lessons they are learning will be ones they use for the rest of their lives. The first graduating class is not only walking away from Safety City with a bike helmet, certificate, and a t-shirt but also with a lot of knowledge on how to stay safe, like when they are riding in a car.
